New ways to use a Mia Tui bag ,iPhone purse and more

So I’m into the final two weeks of our time in Asia, the packers come in next Saturday and put everything we own in a 40ft container.

I have sold the furniture that won’t fit in our house in the UK, we have been away for 7 years and had collected some BIG pieces of

The motorbike went yesterday, I don’t know who was more sad me or Amelie, Van who produces the Mia Tui bags has taken it, so I know it’s in good hands.

I had a meeting at a hardware factory this week, they produce all the hardware for Coach, you can not believe how many human hands touch one clip/ring. It is amazing, from girls inspecting each piece, to the laboratory where they test the product. The quality of the hardware is fantastic, and I have decided that Mia Tui will use them now.

Check out my new sample product, it’s a iPhone purse, I am rushing through some to bring home, they are great if you just need to take out your phone, cards and cash.

Some funny uses of a Mia Tui bags have come about this week

I was on the bike Friday taking a lot of bags to the photographer when I found a tiny kitten on the road, so I opened one of the
bags and she rested nicely in one of the pockets. Off we sped to the vets where I deposited her telling them I will be back in 2 hours.

The next unusual use came when I get a phone call from someone telling me they had a break-in and her Mia Tui bag had been stolen, my 1st thought was WOW someone wants to steal a Mia Tui bag I’ve made it!! Then I realised that it makes the best get away bag, nice and big, plenty of pockets,  it can zip up and has an across the body strap for when they scale 12ft walls and need your hands free!

So two new markets for me then, animal rescue and swag bag, would you believe it!

How much do I love the Mia Tui Inserts

Now I know I designed them.. (well let’s not go over the top with the designing as they are just a clear insert bag with a handle..!)

But I am in love with them, and yes I know I should be selling them, to put food on the table and all,  but they are too darn useful .

Look how I used them today, the Play Doh box had always been such a mess, everything just dumped, now everything has their own special bag, the fairies & dinosaurs all in one place, all the shape cutters are together.

Look at my before and after..

So I am now off to put everything in a bag, Polly Pockets, Colouring pens, Peppa Pig figures, Strawberry Shortcake people etc etc.

God I am so cleaver..!!!

The name of my 3rd baby is…

Grace.. well done to Grumpyishmum.

Thank you to everyone who entered the competition it was a very hard choice.

I really liked Ollie but “Grace” is a girl,  I am in the process of making a man’s bag to add to the collection – so he will be called “Ollie”, and I really liked “Indah” which means beautiful in Indonesian, this will be the name of the next girl in the Mia Tui family.

All the bags are getting packed up and shipped over to England, they should be ready for purchase by mid-late August, the Amelie bag is available now in the UK.

Here is another look at Grace..

Name my 3rd baby..!

My 3rd  needs a name..!

I have finished the 3rd style in the Mia Tui collection and this baby needs a name.

  • It’s a girl
  • Can be worn under your arm or across your body (clever use of the handle)
  • It has the Mia Tui unique interior, Clips for your keys, water-bottle holder, pockets, phone/penholder and a little internal bag

So get you thinking caps on and tell me what you would call this new addition to the Mia Tui range.

Please submit your answers in the comment box below. I will choose a winner by Friday night 10th June 2011 and will announce on Saturday 11th June.

The winner will receive the bag before anyone else (well except me) can get their hands on it in the UK, as I will personally carry it home to the UK with me.

This is what I saw this morning..!!

Life is CRAZY

My life is a bit crazy at the moment..

My daughter turns 6 next week and I have organised a party for tomorrow..!,

I am  sitting here now and have actually done nothing expect book the Hard Rock Café for 15 kids, I lie there was a few frantic phone calls late last night trying to organise a cake, I have always baked their birthday cakes, thought it was the one thing I could do.. well not this year, I am out sourcing it..!

So I am now off to beg some Vietnamese Magician that he wants this gig and hope the lady who does my nails wants to stick some colour on 15 girls hands and feet..!

My competition ended this week, 3 of the 4 winners have contacted me and they have received their bags, and by the sounds of it are in love with their new bags, Tasha of even said I quote “every mother should know about these bags” yes please.!

So what about the 4th winner, I will try to contacted her today, but if I have no luck, I am going to have a good read of all the comments and give  bag to the person I think is the most deserving.!

I actually used randomiser select the winners, I had all good intentions of taking a screen shot, but the bloody screen disappeared before I got a chance, I had already put a name against the winning numbers and did not have the heart to re-draw just so I could get a screen shot..! So you just have to believe me that it was all done impartially.

All the bags are coming in now, my house is slowing filling up with boxes. the small bag is fantastic, I see them all over the place here in Vietnam, the Ava bag in cream is very popular, look at assembly this morning, no shame in carrying the same bag here..!

Only 5 weeks until we leave, last week of school for the girls next week, then they get a 3 month summer holiday… How the hell am I going to cope..!!!!! Nanny & Grand-dad be on your guard as you are going to get a lot of quality grand-daughter time me thinks.!

I had a silly idea of getting the girls a new bed for our move back to the UK, one of those cabin beds that have a bookcase and desk underneath, and draws, all sing and dancing, once I showed them a picture I they were in love and WANTED ONE.

So as we are in Vietnam I decided to copy one from the Pottery Barn Kids website. When will I ever learn that you never get what you ask for.. The beds turned up last night, now they are beautiful, and great for the rooms here (which are huge) but in the UK I think their heads will be 3” from the ceiling, the beds are too long, and where every centimetre makes a big difference, 7cm over may as well be 2 ft..!

I am sure it will sort itself out, it always does here, and the beds will come back to the UK with us, I have never seen my girls get ready for bed so quickly last night.. so long may that continue.
